__________ I use specific details rather than generalizations
__________ I have an enticing opening
__________ My conclusion links to my opening or title
__________ I use a variety of story components
__________ My story is age-appropriate
__________ The title entices the reader to continue
__________The plot contains a significant conflict and strong obstacles
__________ I show, rather than tell about my characters and setting
__________ I present a single point of view
__________ My characters have unique personalities
__________ My characters' dialogue moves the story along
__________ My character(s) grow throughout the story.
__________ The adult characters hover in the background
__________ I use sensory imagery
__________ I use complete sentences
__________ I use a varied sentence structure
__________ I use active, rather than passive voice
__________ I use consistent tenses
__________ My subject, verb, and object agree
