These days, the field of children's writing covers a vast array of publishing options and which you should choose depends upon your goals for your writing. So come and learn more about your options so that you can choose the best for you.

Jan Fields is webeditor for Institute of Children's Literature (and this newsletter). Her own publishing path has included books for a toy company, books for a nonfiction publishing branching out into the fiction market and books for an eduational publisher. She's also written for newspapers, regional magazines, craft magazines, children's magazines and more. Today, she supports her family on her writing income.

Join Jan Fields, Web Editor, for Open Forum in the moderated Scheduled Events Room. Jan has published dozens of magazine articles and stories, as well as 20 story books for a toy company, and nearly endless bits here and there. She's presently working on a series of adaptations of classic novels for ABDO, and she has a fantasy novel published with DRG. She has taught writing for over 20 years. She welcomes your questions on any subject, from getting started writing, to earning money from writing. Come and bring your QUESTIONS and OPINIONS to these moderated open forums on scheduled Tuesday afternoons
and Friday nights.
